Yoka was a passion project built to kill the group-chat coordination problem. The idea was simple: mark yourself as available for an activity, and friends can join in. Similar in concept to irl.com, but focused on spontaneity.

How It Worked

Users would post upcoming activities or mark themselves as free for certain time slots. Friends could browse what's happening, express interest, and coordinate plans — without the usual back-and-forth.

Tech Stack

The mobile app was built with Flutter and Dart, targeting both Android and iOS from a single codebase. The backend ran on Laravel with a Livewire-powered admin panel. The API handled authentication, friend connections, activity feeds, and push notifications.

Outcome

The project was eventually shelved, but it was a valuable exercise in cross-platform mobile development with Flutter and in designing social features from scratch.
